AUGUST 28 · THAT'S A WRAP — SPONSORED BY THE CITY OF BUELLTON
WE HAD A MAGICAL NIGHT
AT THE MOVIES,
VALLEY-STYLE.
On August 28th the Valley came out to River View Park in Buellton for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial under the stars. Blankets on the grass, popcorn in hand, and a full moon that showed up right on cue. Thank you for making it as special as it was.

August 28 · Recap
A Magical Night
The Park truly outdid itself! As the sun went down, it gave us one of the most awe inspiring sunsets we have seen all summer. The natural valley lighting faded to dark as the movie came alive, a visitor from space here to become a beloved friend. A young boy learning to care and build trust with a stranger, in its true sense.
Spielberg tearing at our heartstrings, investing in our cute visitor and his found family, and working to find his way home. And then, just as E.T. was making his escape to go home, the full moon rose behind our screen, right alongside him over the park. It felt like the River View Park sky itself was in on the show!
Moments like this are exactly why we do this, and they only happen when you showed up, brought your families, and made the evening what it was.
From the night

The popcorn machine ran all night with the smell alone pulling people over from across the park.

Bubbles and glow sticks turned the lawn into a sea of light every time a kid took off running and dancing.

The sunset put on its own show first, a sky so dramatic, more of the crowd was filming it instead of facing the large skyhigh screen.

Popcorn in hand, full moon rising, E.T. seemed to time his escape with the nature all around us.
